Mary Helen Bink

Mary Helen Bink has exemplified the spirit of service that defines the Manuel Lykins Distinguished Service Award through her unwavering dedication to the youth of the Wes-Del community. For 38 years, Mary Helen has faithfully volunteered countless hours to support Wes-Del athletics, always willing to serve wherever needed to help student-athletes succeed.
Her contributions have touched nearly every athletic season and venue. Mary Helen has spent years operating the scoreboard for Wes-Del girls high school volleyball and girls high school basketball, helping games run smoothly while supporting student-athletes from behind the scenes. She has also operated the scoreboard for high school and middle school football, kept the books for boys high school basketball, and served as scorekeeper for both varsity and junior varsity baseball. In addition, she faithfully handled the behind-the-scenes duties of the boys basketball “laundry engineer,” making sure uniforms and equipment were ready for competition. Through every season and every role, Mary Helen’s reliability, humility, and willingness to help have made a lasting impact on generations of Wes-Del athletes, coaches, and families.
Like Manuel Lykins, Mary Helen has demonstrated an exemplary attitude of service through her steadfast promotion and support of athletic participation in the Wes-Del community. Her dedication, generosity, and love for Wes-Del make her a truly deserving recipient of the 2026 Manuel Lykins Distinguished Service Award.
