Brett DeWees was a standout three-sport athlete at Wes-Del, earning varsity letters in football, wrestling, and baseball. He was a member of Wes-Del’s sectional championship football team during his freshman season and became a three-year varsity baseball player, contributing as a pitcher, first baseman, and outfielder.

Brett’s greatest accomplishments came in wrestling, where he compiled an outstanding 104-16 career record as a four-year varsity wrestler. Throughout his career, he earned numerous championships and honors, including multiple Jay County Invitational, Delaware County, Muncie Central Invitational, Mid-Eastern Conference, sectional, and regional titles. He qualified for Semi-State three times and capped off his senior season with a 36-2 record, a Semi-State Runner-Up finish, and a State Finals appearance.

After high school, Brett continued wrestling with the Ball State Wrestling Club and later gave back through coaching as an assistant wrestling coach at Wes-Del, youth baseball coach in Ohio, and Upward Youth Basketball coach.

Professionally, Brett has built a successful career in manufacturing and leadership. He earned certifications as a Manufacturing Engineer and Quality Engineer and currently serves as President and CEO of Forrest Machine Products. In 2018, he received the Richland County CEO’s “You Should Know” Award.

Brett and his wife, Jennifer, have been married for 30 years and have two sons, Blake and Bryce. He is also a founding member of Operation Up-Lift, a charity that has provided more than 175 beds to children in need throughout Richland County, Ohio, and surrounding communities.
