Contributions to the field of athletics (for Coaches and Contributors):

  • Coached the Warrior Baseball team to the 1980 Blackford Sectional Baseball Championship which was the first sectional championship in baseball for the program.
  • Coached the 1981 Baseball team as Co-Champions of the White River Athletic Conference.
  • Coached the 1985-86 Basketball team that won the Delaware County Tournament, the Mid Eastern Conference Championship and the Sectional Championship
  • Beginning in the 1985-86 school year he moved from the Head Baseball coach to the Boy’s Golf Coach and held that position through the spring of 1991 before he left Wes-Del to become the Athletic Director at Muncie Central.
  • In 1989 he started the Girl’s golf program that exists today.
  • 2017-18, as Superintendent, he led the school board through the decision to construct the Wes-Del Fieldhouse and later served as the Clerk of the works during it’s construction.

List of Accomplishments, Awards and Recognitions both during and after high school:

  • White River Athletic Conference Baseball Co-Coach of the year for 1981.
  • Mid- Eastern Conference Basketball Coach of the year 1985-86.
  • District 6 Superintendent of the Year for the 2017-18 school year.
  • Inducted into the Delaware County Athletic Hall of Fame in 2000
  • Recipient of the James Lightbody Award in 2022 from the Delaware County Athletic Hall of Fame which is the highest award the hall gives for lifetime achievements in the field of athletics
  • Served on the Delaware County Athletic Hall of Fame Board for 33 years with the last 11 as president.
