Shea Johnson was a standout multi-sport athlete at Wes-Del, earning varsity letters in football, wrestling, and baseball while building a reputation as one of the school’s most accomplished all-around competitors. In football, Shea was a four-year varsity letter winner, earned White River Athletic Conference All-Conference honors in 2006, and was named the team’s Most Valuable Offensive Player that same season.

On the wrestling mat, Shea compiled an outstanding career record of 105-17 and established himself as one of the top wrestlers in the area during his high school career. He was the 2007 Sectional Champion, a two-time Regional Qualifier, Semi-State Qualifier, two-time Delaware County Champion, and four-time White River Athletic Conference Champion. Shea also captured three East Central Indiana Classic championships and three Muncie Central Invitational titles. His leadership and success earned him the Most Valuable Underclassman Award in 2004, Most Valuable Wrestler honors in 2005, 2006, and 2007, and team captain recognition from 2005-2007.

In baseball, Shea was also a four-year varsity letter winner and helped lead Wes-Del to the 2006 Sectional Championship and the 2005 White River Athletic Conference Championship. He served as team captain during the 2006 and 2007 seasons and was named the team’s Most Valuable Offensive Player in 2006. Shea also continued his baseball success outside of school as a member of the American Legion Post 19 team in 2006 and 2007 before later earning an opportunity as a walk-on for the Ball State University baseball team during the 2008 season.
