Kay coached the Wes-Del Volleyball Team to 6 County Championships, 6 Conference Championships, 6 Sectional Championships, 1 Regional Championship, 1 Semi State Championship, 1 State Finals Appearance. She coached the Gymnastics Team to 6 Sectional Championships, 3 Regional Championships. She also served at least 2 years as the Cheerleaders Coach.  She was the first woman named as an athletic director in the state of Indiana and served as the Wes-Del Athletic Director for 19 year. She was inducted into the Delaware County Athletic Hall of Fame in 1986.

List of Accomplishments, Awards and Recognitions both during and after high school:

Served as Head Varsity Wrestling coach from 1975-2007 and 2017-2019. Served as Assistant Varsity Wrestling coach from 2010-2016.  Career record as head coach was 403-132-2.

During his head coaching career, his teams earned:

  • 13 Team Conference Championships
  • 1 Delaware County Wrestling Championship
  • 1 ECIC Championship
  • 9 Team Sectional Championships
  • 16 Qualifiers to the Indiana State Wrestling Tournament
    • 4 place finishers
  • Named Conference Coach of the Year 18 times.
  • Also served as Assistant Varsity Football coach from 1976-2018 and Assistant Varsity Track coach at Wes-Del for more than 30 years.
  • Served as an Assistant Varsity Football coach for the 1974 Blackford High School State Championship Team.
  • Inducted into the Delaware County Athletic Hall of Fame.
  • Inducted into the Indiana State Wrestling Hall of Fame.
